NCECS 2008

December 23, 2008

Together with a Consultant from Signum Vitae (organization serving the disabled), Samson evaluated homebound elders referred by the Kebele. Because Samson is enrolled in Nursing College, he is able to assess physical and psychosocial needs. An assessment of each elder visited produced a list of appliances and apparatus. We were deeply disappointed when Signum Vitae refused to provide any of these.

A message from founder Samson Betru:

NCECS needs funds from friends around the world. You are one of our dear friends. As you know, NCECS has many friends and has good communication. So dear friend, today we would like to ask you to contribute┬áto build up “NCECS.” The big challenge is the organization such as an office in Addis Ababa and the ability to connect with the government requirements.

Then there are the older people who need so much, the poorest elders and their families who have multidimensional problems, like shelter, school materials for the children, and other life difficulties.

Our NGO, is awaiting a possible big fund from Helpage International, if we get this fund (in 2009 or 2010) many things might be worked out. Furthermore, Habitat for Humanity may help us with building. But in the meantime, we must hire an accountant and prepare our reports for the government. (Habitat did not end up helping us after all.)

Dear friend there are many ways to help and join in our NGO (non-governmental organization). For this check our website Ask any information.

Sincerely, Samson
